Senate advances dozens of bills; multiple substituted measures pass on Feb. 15, 2001

The Senate also advanced appropriation and policy bills to the third-reading calendar, including SB 172 (post-conviction DNA testing), SB 153 (kinship placement for foster children) and SB 185 (library initiative supplemental appropriation). A concurrent resolution (SCR 3) approving a settlement between the Utah Department of Transportation and EnviroTech (EVT Holdings) was placed on the third-reading calendar after a roll-call vote.

The Senate recessed after completing the business scheduled for the day and set a 2:00 p.m. return time. The chamber also recognized visiting students and honored the Utah Emergency Medical Training program and lifesaving students during the session.
