As part of the Sept. 15 special session the Utah Senate considered and consented to a slate of gubernatorial appointments transmitted by communication dated Aug. 30, 2004.
The clerk read multiple appointments, including Marcel Schoop to the Air Quality Board (term to expire July 1, 2008), appointments to the securities advisory board and the state records committee, members for the Utah 9-1-1 Committee, appointments to the Water Quality Board and multiple appointments to the Board of Child and Family Services.
Senator Hilliard moved that the Senate give its advice and consent to the governor's list; following brief remarks and a roll-call the Senate recorded 26 aye votes, no nays and three absent and consented to the list.
The consent means the named individuals will be deemed confirmed by the Senate and the communications will be processed in accordance with statutory appointment procedures.
