Senator Hatch, speaking for Millard County and Fillmore residents, also thanked the governor for coming and said the visit was meaningful to his constituents.
Earlier in the session the Senate resolved to a committee of the whole for the purpose of hearing from the governor; that motion was approved by voice vote. He also warned senators that on Monday morning (referred to in the transcript as "the 20 fourth" beginning at 9 a.m.) Beck Street would be reduced from three lanes to one at the approach to Victory Road because of an emergency gas-line repair at the Chevron station; the repair was described as taking several days with an anticipated completion by the afternoon of the following Thursday in January, producing expected congestion for travelers.
The presiding officer placed a motion to adjourn the Senate until 10:00 a.m. Monday, which was approved, and the chamber prepared to close the day's business.
