Senate advances and signs a package of bills on third reading and concurrence

During its Feb. 15 floor session the Utah Senate moved a number of bills through concurrence, second and third reading with votes recorded on the floor.
Notable outcomes included: second substitute Senate Bill 55 (clean campaign pledge revisions) concurred with the House (26 ayes, 0 nays, 3 absent); Senate Bill 139 (reportable transaction act) was circled and later concurred/passed with 26 yes votes; House Bill 41 (electronic filing for state publications) passed the Senate 27-0; House Bill 207 (inherent risks for recreational activities on local-government property) passed (25-2); House Bill 86 (property tax prepayment refunds) passed (27-0, amended); House Bill 81 (tuition program for teacher licensure) passed (26-0). Several other bills (HB233, HB242, HB315, HB204, HB233, HB233 substitutes and technical amendments) were read and returned to the other chamber or enrolled for signature.
Clerk Sandy Tenney transmitted numerous house concurrence actions and the President announced bills to be signed in open session as appropriate. Most roll calls were routine with clear tallies; any amendments or committee changes were noted on the floor.
