Senate passes SB 4 and SB 92, rejects SB 84; other bills advanced or circled

Senate Bill 92 (Revised Uniform Anatomical Gift Act): Sen. Hilliard presented SB 92 and said he had handouts and no outstanding questions; the Senate voted to pass SB 92, 28-0, and referred it to the House.
Senate Bill 84 (confidentiality of reports to the driver license division): Sen. Christensen explained the bill’s distinction between anonymous reporting and confidential reporting to encourage safety-related tips to the driver-license division; the vote ended without the necessary support and the bill failed and was filed.
Senate Bill 100 (Purple Heart registration and fee exemption): Sen. Hickman introduced SB 100 to exempt certain motor-vehicle registration and related fees for Purple Heart recipients; the Senate moved the bill to third reading, noting a fiscal note that estimated a $19,600 revenue loss.
Other business: The Senate received committee reports, assigned bills to standing committees, placed items on the consent calendar, uncircled and circled bills for coordination with the House, and adjourned until 10 a.m. the following morning.
