The Utah Senate adopted the Rules Committee report at the opening of its Feb. 12 afternoon session, approving committee referrals for several bills and moving routine procedural business forward.
Committee Chair John Hickman presented the report and recommended assignment of bills to standing committees, including multiple education, health and judiciary referrals. Senator Hickman moved adoption of the report and the body agreed by voice vote.
The clerk then read titles and referrals for bills the Rules Committee directed to its roster, after which the Senate resumed its second-reading calendar.
No recorded roll-call was taken on the adoption of the Rules Committee report; it was accepted by general consent and the Senate proceeded to substantive items on the calendar.
