Senate advances multiple bills to third reading and adopts several amendments on Feb. 11, 2008

Roll-call and voice votes recorded the following outcomes: first substitute Senate Bill 46 (anti-flow-control) advanced to third reading (22 yes, 4 no, 3 absent); Senate Bill 148 (front license plate enforcement moved to secondary offense) advanced with 22 yes, 2 no, 5 absent; first substitute Senate Bill 179 (salvage vehicle/title housekeeping) recorded 24 yes, 0 no, 5 absent and was ordered to third reading; Senate Bill 167 (allowing wine and spirits service by restaurants and private clubs on Election Day) recorded 26 yes, 2 no, 1 absent and was ordered to third reading; and House Bill 71 (parent-time amendments) passed final passage on the floor 22 yes, 3 no, 4 absent and will be returned to the House.
Other actions: first substitute SB 45 (inventory of competitive municipal activities) was ordered to third reading after a roll call of 17 yes, 10 no, 2 absent. Several bills were "circled" for further consideration (for example SB 168 and SB 20 after amendments).
