Senator Knudson moves long list of House bills to second‑reading calendar; motion approved

Senator Knudson moved that, under suspension of the rules, the Senate lift a long list of House bills from the Rules Committee and place them at the bottom of the second‑reading calendar. Knudson read the bills aloud, including House Bill 495 (Bridal Control Modifications), House Bill 232 (Drug Paraphernalia Definition Amendments), House Bill 328 (State Government Work Week), second substitute House Bill 77 (Medical Assistance Accountability), House Bill 434 (County Amendments), HB 370 (Bail Bond Amendments), and others through House Bill 432 (Nuisance Amendments).

"I would move that we lift under the suspension of the rules," Knudson said when introducing the motion. During the reading, senators noted that House Bill 490 was not on the list and Senator Robles asked to add his item. Knudson agreed to include the first substitute for House Bill 482 (long term care facility, Medicaid).

After the list was finalized, the President put the motion to a voice vote. The President announced, "Motion carries," and declared the list approved; the affected bills were placed on the Senate's second‑reading calendar. The motion was taken and resolved on the floor by voice vote; no roll‑call tally was recorded in the transcript.

The action advances these House measures one step closer to further floor consideration; placement on the second‑reading calendar schedules the bills for future Senate consideration rather than final passage.
