Senate approves process for Prison Relocation and Development Authority with legislative review

Senator Reid asked which agency staffs the authority; floor leaders said staff support would come from the Governor's Office of Planning and Budget (GOPB). Senators emphasized the need for public review and legislative oversight before anything proceeds with redevelopment of the prison site.
Next steps: The bill passed under suspension of the rules after floor amendments and will be returned to the House for its further actions; GOPB will provide administrative staffing and sponsors will present follow-up reporting requirements to legislative management.
