Utah Senate adopts Rules Committee report, assigns wide slate of bills to standing committees

Dayton noted many of the bills were heard during the interim and "most of them were unanimous," adding that those that lacked unanimity had large majorities.
The Rules Committee also recommended that a group of bills be placed at the bottom of the second reading calendar (Senate Bills 10–30 as read), and the Senate approved that placement. Senators then introduced additional bills for referral to Rules, including SB93 (Child Welfare Legislative Oversight Panel Reporting Amendments), SB114 (Municipal Prosecutorial Discretion), SB115 (School Performance Reporting), SB116 (Homestead Exemption Modification) and SCR5 (Bear Lake Concurrent Resolution). The clerk confirmed that these introductions will be referred to the Rules Committee for assignment.
On other floor business, the Senate approved a time‑certain request from Senator Davis for a Girl Scouts presentation at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday and then adjourned until 10:00 a.m. the next day.
