- S.B.135 (involuntary commitment notice amendment): Senator Weiler moved Amendment 1 to clarify notice and consultation procedures for institutions when a petition for involuntary commitment is filed; the amendment passed and S.B.135 as amended passed the Senate by roll call (27–0, 2 absent) and was sent to the House.
- H.B.37, H.B.22, H.B.32 and other House bills: The Senate approved several House bills on the consent calendar (recorded unanimity where noted) and sent them back to the House for the speaker’s signature.
- Confirmation: The Senate confirmed Todd Kaiser as Utah insurance commissioner by roll call (29–0). Kaiser addressed the Senate and thanked members for the confirmation.
Procedural note: Senators also moved S.B.166 (hospital provider assessment amendments) between consent and second-reading calendars to allow members to explain their votes. Several other bills were introduced or referred to Rules for committee assignment.
