Utah Senate adopts Rules Committee report, assigns bills to standing committees

Several bills were listed for referral to standing committees, including SP 49 (parental permission to release student information), SP 50 (transition/repeal Navajo Trust Fund Act), SB 89, SB 90 (residency amendments), SB 91 (school district modifications), SB 95 and SJR 12 (state superintendent of public instruction joint resolution).
Members were reminded to submit appropriation request forms to the legislative appropriations committee or staff and not to wait until the last day. Senator Valentine announced a Rules Committee meeting immediately following adjournment, and the clerk noted a rotunda lunch sponsored by the Utah Chiefs of Police for those who RSVP'd. The Senate adjourned until 10 a.m. the following day.
