Senate approves $541 million in supplemental appropriations as House Bill 2

Dollars $541,000,000 to operating and capital budgets... $351,000,000 is from the general and the education fund and approximately 99,000,000 from the general fund." He said most of the education fund items are ongoing while much of the rest is one-time spending.
After no floor questions, the Senate moved under suspension of the rules for final passage. The presiding officer recorded 28 yeas, 0 nays and 1 absent. The Senate ordered the bill signed by the president in open session and returned to the House for the speaker's signature.
The immediate implementation task is execution of the appropriations by the affected state agencies and incorporation of intent language previously agreed to by subcommittees and Executive Appropriations.
