Senator Stuart Reid moved to resolve the Utah Senate into the Committee of the Whole to hear Caitlin Goughner from the League of Cities. After an initial attempt when Ms. Goughner was not immediately present, the Committee was dissolved and then reconvened; Ms. Goughner addressed the chamber, thanked senators for their public service and invited them to a luncheon at the Salt Palace with buses available on the east side of the Capitol.
On behalf of the League, Goughner said the organization values its working relationship with the Senate and encouraged attendance and engagement with municipal officials. Her remarks were brief and ceremonial in tone; no formal policy action was taken during the Committee of the Whole visit.
The body then dissolved the Committee of the Whole and returned to regular session business before adjourning for the day.
