• SJR19 (Joint resolution approving tobacco settlement): Senator Bramble presented the updated RJ Reynolds settlement and summarized projected payments to Utah (approximately $28,000,000 in regularly scheduled payments and additional payments including roughly $28,000,000 between 2018 and 2027 and further payments cited around $298,000,000 under the new terms); the Senate suspended rules and passed the joint resolution.
• SB208 (Pharmacy Benefits Manager/Coordinator Amendments) and SB234 (Utah Inland Port Authority): The House transmitted substituted versions of both bills; sponsors reported stakeholder agreement on forced-substitute language for SB208 and the Senate concurred and recorded passage votes.
• Multiple House bills (for example, HB116 Student and Civil Liberties Protection Act, HB176 temporary county official replacement, HB196 Breastfeeding Protection Act and HB361 billboard condemnation/eminent-domain timing) were taken up, many under suspension of the rules, with recorded votes and transmittals to the House for enrollment.
