Senate receives House bills, introduces multiple Senate measures and schedules committee work

The Utah State Senate received two measures from the House and read a slate of Senate bills for the first time, with leadership sending the introduced measures to the Rules Committee for consideration.
Megan Allen, chief clerk, reported: "The house passed house bill 21 intergenerational poverty plan implementation program extension Representative Owens. The house passed house bill 46 arts and museums revisions by Representative Harrison. These bills are transmitted to the Senate for consideration." President Adams said the bills, having been read the first time, will be referred to the Rules Committee.
Senators read multiple Senate bills for the first time; the transcript lists Senate Bill 7 and Senate Bills 81 through 86 with sponsors named on the floor (including Senator Stevenson and Senator Thatcher among others). President Adams announced those bills will be sent to the Rules Committee for consideration. The chamber also reviewed the second-reading calendar (noting two bills had been circled) and discussed scheduling unused floor time for later in the session.
Senator Filmore announced a Rules Committee meeting at 11:50 a.m. in the Rules Room. The Senate adjourned by voice vote and will reconvene at 11:00 a.m. the following day.
