SALT LAKE CITY — The Utah Senate convened in its eighth extraordinary session in September 2020 at the State Capitol to consider gubernatorial appointments and adopted rules for the session before voting to consent to the governor’s nominees.
President Adams called the Senate to order, established a quorum with 26 senators present and opened the session that, according to the governor’s proclamation read to the chamber, had been called "for the Senate to consent to appointments made by the governor to positions within state government of the state of Utah since the close of the 2020 general session of the legislature."
