Stratford Zoning Commission sets Jan. 1, 2025 effective date for revised zoning regulations

The Stratford Zoning Commission voted 5-0 at an administrative work session Dec. 17 to set Jan. 1, 2025, as the effective date for its revised zoning regulations.
Chair Harold Watson said the rewrite reflects “earnest efforts to improve our zoning for all stakeholders in Stratford,” and thanked staff and consultants for their work on the update. “I want to express my gratitude for the hard work on this zoning, revision, rewrite that represents earnest efforts to improve our zoning for all stakeholders in Stratford,” Watson said.
The revision had been approved section-by-section at a prior meeting; the Dec. 17 action set the implementation date for those approved sections. Watson moved the motion to set the effective date; Deborah Lamberti, zoning 4 commissioner, seconded. The commission recorded a unanimous voice vote in favor.
Commissioners present for the vote were Linda Manos (Zoning 1), Ewold Joseph (Zoning 2), Deborah Lamberti (Zoning 4), Rich Ferdette (sitting in for Zoning 5 commissioner Lynn Patricelli), and Chair Harold Watson (Zoning 3). Patricelli was absent.
The commission did not make further revisions during the administrative session. The effective date establishes when the updated regulations will take effect for permitting and enforcement; the commission did not state additional transitional procedures at the meeting. The commission adjourned after handling routine administrative items.
