Utah Senate quickly consents to a slate of judicial and commission nominees

The Utah State Senate met in an eleventh extraordinary session on Oct. 2024 and voted to consent to a series of gubernatorial appointments, including four judges and multiple commission and board members, President Adams announced.
Senators moved promptly through the governor’s list after adopting session rules. The Senate gave its consent to Meb Anderson as judge of the Fifth Judicial District with a roll-call result the chair announced as 25 "yay," 0 "nay" and 4 absent. After the vote, Anderson told senators he was “honored and humbled” and pledged adherence to the rule of law and impartiality.
