Senate honors National Conference of State Legislatures on its 50th anniversary

The Utah Senate on day 22 adopted Senate Joint Resolution 11, recognizing the 50th anniversary of the National Conference of State Legislatures (NCSL) and Utah’s long involvement with the organization.
Senator Harper introduced the resolution and noted Utah’s sustained participation in NCSL leadership roles. Stacy Householder, identified in the chamber as NCSL vice president, stood to be recognized. "She is a friend of the state of Utah," Senator Harper said, thanking Householder for her work supporting legislators and staff.
Senator Milner and other senators praised Utah’s representation within NCSL, noting past and current Utah officers and staff who serve on NCSL committees and leadership teams. Under suspension of the Senate’s three‑reading rule, the body moved SJR 11 to third reading and approved the resolution by roll call and voice votes.
After the vote Senator Harper pointed out commemorative lapel pins distributed on desks and encouraged members to wear them. The resolution carries no fiscal effect and is ceremonial in nature.
