The Speaker responded that the measure had already been signed by the Speaker and would be returned to the Senate for the president's signature.
Sen. Thatcher addressed the House before adjournment, saying, "We wish to notify you that the senate has concluded its business and is ready to adjourn sine die." Following that notification, Representative Gibson moved that the House adjourn. The Speaker put the motion to a voice vote, members responded "aye," and the Speaker declared, "The motion passes. We are adjourned." The House exited by voice vote; a roll-call tally was not recorded in the transcript.
Earlier in the session the Speaker appointed small committees of representatives to meet with Senate counterparts and to notify the governor and the Senate that the chambers had completed their business. The Speaker also directed Megan Allen to review and certify the indexed, bound copy of the House Journal as the official record of the second special session.
The action closes the Legislature's second special session; the bill concurrence means Fourth Substitute Senate Bill 2001 will proceed to final signature steps. The transcript does not record a roll-call vote or a numerical tally for the adjournment motion.
