Charleston approves one-year lease for fire training site adjacent to Station 8

Mr. Wood explained the lease carries no cash consideration; instead the city will improve the lot and provide access needed to build the training structure. He said the winter fund-balance allocation included $400,000 toward constructing the training facility. The lease is renewable by the city's continued use; it can be terminated by 30 days' notice as structured in the agreement.
The fire department was present for questions about the facility's uses. The committee moved and approved the resolution by voice vote.
