At the Dec. 18 Mayor and Council meeting, resident Joanne addressed the council during public comment to report an ongoing safety concern: her neighbor reportedly parks a flatbed tow truck in a driveway on Sixth and Ray every other day, obstructing sight lines and making it difficult to exit her driveway in dark morning hours.
"I pulled out of my driveway this morning and a man was walking ... I almost hit him because of this truck," Joanne said, asking what the local ordinance is and whether the borough can act. She said she and her husband have been in contact with borough staff since October and asked for a written response.
Staff acknowledged prior communications but explained that enforcement was delayed after a property‑maintenance inspector passed away and other staff were covering vacations. The mayor and staff said they would double‑check the prior emails and follow up with the resident.
The council closed public comment after the exchange and directed staff to follow up on the complaint, with the mayor and administrator noting next steps to verify the property status and code enforcement options.
