Tinton Falls meeting roundup: library reopens, Wardell Road updates, Spark Car Wash approval

At its Dec. 3 meeting the Tinton Falls Borough Council covered several routine but locally relevant items in addition to formal votes.
Borough engineer Mister Neff reported on construction: Wardell Road work is expected to wrap up and reopen by the end of the week, with additional bathroom building and drainage work continuing and paving likely resuming in the spring. Neff said the contractor is "pretty much wrapped up with paving for the year" but will continue drainage work in colder weather.
Doctor Toman reported that the borough library opened after a seven-year effort; the opening drew heavy attendance and many new library card registrations. Council members thanked library staff and volunteers and highlighted the role of Borough departments in supporting the opening.
Planning Board developments were reported: Mister Nasky said the Planning Board unanimously approved the Spark Car Wash application for the corner of Shrewsbury Avenue and Swimming; board members asked questions that the applicant addressed, including removal of existing driveways. The next Planning Board meeting will consider a subdivision of a JSM property.
The clerk read Ordinance 2024-1519, vacating public rights in a portion of a paper street designated as Wardell Road; council introduced the ordinance and set a public hearing for Dec. 17, 2024. The public hearing on that ordinance will allow comments only on the Wardell Road vacation.
The consent agenda completed the meeting's business, and the council adjourned at 7:52 p.m.
