Tinton Falls council welcomes new member; holiday events and community updates highlighted

The Tinton Falls Borough Council opened its Dec. 17 meeting with a swearing-in ceremony for Gregory Alessi, who was administered the oath by Senator Vinh Gopal. Council members and attendees offered congratulations and a group photo followed the ceremony.
Council then moved through routine business and reports. The borough business administrator described recent community events, including a well-attended holiday event at Liberty Park and a recent clinic at a Target store; he announced a menorah lighting scheduled for Dec. 26 at 4 p.m. at Liberty Park and the distribution of the 2025 borough calendars. Borough engineer Mr. Naff reported no items for tonight’s meeting.
During council reports the newest council member introduced as Mr. Leski thanked colleagues for the welcome and said he looked forward to working with staff and the community. Dr. Chung highlighted library programs and praised staff, noting the library offers numerous activities and resources for residents.
In the public comment period, Sheila Hatami of 2 Palermo Drive congratulated Mister Alessi and extended holiday wishes to the council and community.
The council completed routine votes and adjourned at 7:56 p.m.
