Resident praises officer for helping a homeless woman and urges high-visibility gloves for traffic control

During the public comment portion of the meeting a resident thanked police for assisting a young woman who was sleeping outside a CVS and said an officer obtained a bus pass and helped her get to Brockton.
"The police person who came was so fabulous... He took care of everything, got her a bus pass, got her to the bus," the resident said, urging that more people know they can ask officers for that kind of help.
The same resident also suggested traffic officers wear gloves the same color as their bright jackets so motorists can better see hand signals when directing traffic at construction sites. The resident noted they often cannot see the officer's hand movements when the officer's bare hand is not contrasting with the jacket.
The chief acknowledged the comment and the meeting moved on to the department's presentation on training and equipment.
