Council Bluffs district recognizes dozens of students and three employees of the year

Dozens of students and several staff members were honored during the Council Bluffs Community School District board meeting.
Superintendent Doctor Morello and Miss Comine led a recognition program that highlighted elementary and secondary robotics teams with state awards and US Open or world-qualifier distinctions, Abraham Lincoln High’s JROTC robotics team that earned top national finishes, and multiple TSA and SkillsUSA award winners. Miss Comine thanked Bridget Watson and the Council Bluffs Schools Foundation for sponsoring the district’s student recognition program.
In staff recognitions, the board named Amber Plambach, a paraprofessional at Wilson Middle School, as support-staff member of the year and Robert Tallgren as licensed staff member of the year for his fifth-grade teaching and leadership. Teresa Hamilton, principal of Carter Lake Elementary School, was named the district’s principal of the year; presenters cited MAP and state assessment growth and community engagement.
Board members and attendees applauded the awardees and invited families to take photos at the Omni Center banner after the meeting.
