She listed recent activities and accomplishments for 2023–24, including a tetanus vaccination clinic for persons affected by flooding, a planned community baby‑shower event, staff attendance at infectious‑disease and immunization conferences, in‑home investigation certification for staff, and staff training to provide car‑seat safety checks and safe‑sleep instruction. Johnson also said the department has increased outreach and marketing, with a new staff member focused on community engagement and social media.
Commissioners thanked the health department for its work and said the agency will be included in upcoming county budget discussions. No vote was taken at the time of the presentation; the item was presented as part of the commission’s annual budgeting process.
