Jason Sandoval, general manager of Xfinity Center, told the Select Board the venue hosted 42 events in 2024 and welcomed about a half‑million fans through the gates. "We had 42 events...around the range of a half a million fans come through our gates," Sandoval said, and he highlighted year‑over‑year improvements in venue- and staff-satisfaction survey scores.
Public-safety officials attending the meeting credited the venue’s management team and strong interagency communication. The fire chief reported that medical operations were moved to a parking‑lot tent during building work and that coordination with Xfinity staff was seamless. The police chief and other public-safety leaders described weekly or frequent pre-event coordination and an extensive email chain supporting planning and event-day adjustments.
Sandoval described operational changes intended to improve ingress and egress, including new overhead signage, software improvements (an AI-based pedestrian/vehicle count that increased real-time capacity awareness), and investments to beautify Pump House Road to better direct traffic. He also said venue staff aim to submit an application for an increase in paid parking spots for 2025 and are beginning pre-season planning earlier.
On sustainability, Sandoval said Xfinity’s diversion goal was 80% and that preliminary calculations indicate the venue appears to have hit that target. He noted the venue reached SAFETY Act recognition within its promoter network this year, and that the venue donates proceeds from can-redemption collections locally (about $11,000 this year to Mansfield 501(c)(3) organizations).
The Select Board thanked Xfinity and public-safety agencies; no changes to licensing or fees were voted during the meeting, though the town manager said a draft 2025 entertainment license (including equipment-fee schedule review) is in progress.
