The Select Board voted unanimously Sept. 18 to grant a renewal cable license to Verizon New England Inc., effective Sept. 18, 2024, through Sept. 17, 2029. Town staff summarized the negotiated terms: addition of one HD PEG access channel, a commitment of 5% of gross annual revenues to PEG access support (consistent with the existing Comcast agreement), and a $124,500 PEG access capital commitment to be paid in three installments.
Staff also noted that if Verizon provides an electronic program guide or video-on-demand for other Massachusetts municipalities, Mansfield would receive that service in the future. The Select Board moved, seconded, and voted to authorize the license execution; the motion passed 5-0.
