The Select Board of the Town of Mansfield honored Robert "Bob" Barry on Sept. 18 for his long service on the Municipal Building Committee. Members praised Barry—9s mentorship and work on municipal projects and read a town proclamation recognizing his contributions.
Board members and committee colleagues described Barry as a steady presence on municipal construction projects. "You were always professional," one board member said, thanking him for his work on DPW, police and fire projects. The proclamation credited Barry with "decades of expertise and billions of dollars in project merit management" and noted his roles as chair, vice chair and CIP member.
Barry thanked the board and noted the role his state job played in allowing him to serve the town. The Select Board presented proclamations and parting gifts and invited colleagues to share memories of his time on the committee.
The board then opened public comment and moved on to other agenda items.
