Council approves Meyer Avenue wall, guardrail work and routine payments

The council also approved hiring Hilt Engineering to replace the remaining guardrail on Sunny Hill for no more than $13,000 after a motion from S3 and a second from S5; that motion carried. In addition, the council approved payment of bills, with S3 reporting totals for bills and payroll and the motion to pay $182,535.64 carried by voice vote. Earlier in the meeting S5 noted a correction to the minutes: Morris Trucking’s amount was changed from $2,000 to $3,000.
The council asked staff to post a public-works position (in-house and external posting) to accept applications; consensus was given to open recruitment. Staff indicated the Meyer Avenue wall grant still covers the stated costs and that additional receipts should be tracked for grant reporting.
