Council approves rally sponsorships and multiple agreements; consent agenda and motions summarized

At its special meeting the Sturgis City Council approved several agenda items related to the upcoming rally and routine city business.

Approvals and outcomes

- Licenses and agreements: Item 9.1 (CoSMR licensing agreement with AMA Pro Racing) was approved on a motion; item 9.2, a sponsorship agreement with Anheuser Busch, passed after a motion and second. Items 9.4 through 9.11—various leases and rally-related agreements—were approved as a block on a motion by Councilor Kevin and second by Tony.

- Marketing agreement delayed: A proposed marketing agreement with AMA Pro (item 9.3) was discussed but the city attorney told council the agreement was not in a condition to be signed. Jesse moved, and Nick seconded, to postpone signing until the July 29 meeting; that motion carried.

A professional services agreement with Collier's Securities (item 11.1) was tabled to the Sept. 3 meeting to gather additional information.
