The council convened as the board of adjustment and approved two variance requests brought before the body.
First, the board approved a zoning variance to allow a mobile home on property now owned by Josie Parent at 2921 Van Ocker Road. Planning staff said 15 landowner response forms were sent and seven were returned in favor; planning commission recommended approval at its July 2 meeting. Staff also said floodplain/elevation concerns have been addressed with an elevation certificate and skirting specifications.
Second, the board approved side-yard and rear-yard setback variances for a new garage at 1706 Lazell Street. Staff reported the owner had been issued a building permit on April 10, 2024, to stabilize and rebuild the garage in the previous footprint; six of 15 landowner response forms were returned with approvals.
Both variance motions passed by voice vote. The approvals were recorded as final action by the board of adjustment at the meeting; no appeals or further conditions were stated on the record.
