The superintendent said the interactive report will be posted on the district website and noted highlights including last year's enrollment (2,152 students), current-year enrollment near 2,190, about 430 FTE staff, a 99% graduation rate for the class of 2023 (based on June 2023), AP/IB participation and assessment summaries. The report adds previously omitted metrics such as restraints and seclusions and includes facility project summaries and a budget overview.
On procedural business the board moved to approve minutes for Nov. 27 and Dec. 4, 2023 and approved them by voice vote. The board then considered policy BED on remote participation. Board member Anne moved to approve the policy change, removing subcommittee meetings from the policy's remote-participation allowances; Annika seconded and the motion passed by voice vote.
Later in the meeting the board voted to enter executive session to consult with legal counsel regarding a grievance citing "state statute 1 MRSA 4 0 5 6 e." The board moved and seconded the motion and carried it by voice vote; the board then proceeded to the Art Room for the executive session.
