La Paz County supervisors approve public‑safety grants, SWAT vehicle and IDA bond proceedings; consent agenda passes

SWAT vehicle purchase: The board approved purchase of a 2025 tactical vehicle using a U.S. Department of Justice congressional award covering $305,000 and sheriff’s department funds of $13,247.70 for a total $318,247.70. The sheriff said the Grant was obtained through Senator Mark Kelly's office and that the vehicle will replace an older military diesel vehicle that no longer performs reliably (SEG 254–286).
IDA bonds (Resolution 2025‑10): The board adopted Resolution No. 2025‑10 approving proceedings of the Industrial Development Authority related to an application by IDV Cogor LLC for accelerated infrastructure funding capital appreciation bonds not to exceed approximately $14,758,727. Gary Drummond, outside counsel for the IDA, explained the bonds are capital appreciation bonds backed by a reimbursement agreement with a Chambers County Improvement District in Texas and that neither the county nor state is obligated to repay the bonds (SEG 328–456).
Consent agenda and other items: The consent agenda items 5A–F were approved by voice vote with no discussion (SEG 198–214). During the meeting staff also updated the board on FY25 budget closeout work and noted House Bill 2727 — water legislation relevant to La Paz County — had been signed by the governor (SEG 071–087; SEG 092–100).
