At the May meeting the Eastchester Board of Education took three formal procedural actions.
• Temporary district clerk appointment (approved): A board member moved to appoint Dr. Jacqueline DeMarco as district clerk pro tem for the evening’s voting in the absence of the district clerk. The board voted by voice and the motion carried; Dr. DeMarco served as clerk pro tem for the purposes of the vote.
• Consent agenda (approved): A motion to approve the consent agenda — including personnel items, committee on preschool special education recommendations, business office recommendations and curriculum/instruction items — was moved and approved by voice vote.
• Recess to certify election (approved): The board moved and seconded a motion to recess the meeting and go to the polling location to certify the election. The motion was seconded (Laurie) and approved by voice vote; the meeting was adjourned to proceed to the polling place.
The transcript records voice approvals and the chair said “motion passes” for the consent agenda; no roll‑call tallies or individual member votes were recorded in the meeting transcript.
