At the Dec. 2 meeting the City Commission took several routine formal actions by voice vote.
Hiring: The commission approved a motion to hire Hayden Lindsey at $23.19 per hour with a $0.50 raise after 90 days, effective Dec. 3, 2024. The motion was moved (speaker at SEG 638), seconded (SEG 641) and passed by voice vote; no roll-call tally by name was read into the meeting record.
Resolution — Barclays Street seasonal no-parking: The commission approved Resolution (recorded in the meeting as "20 24 dash 12") establishing a seasonal no-parking zone on the west side of Barclays Street to be signed for Nov. 1 through Apr. 30. The resolution text in the meeting record describes the signed no-parking area beginning approximately 352 feet north of East Summit Street and continuing north for 20 feet. The motion was moved and seconded and passed by voice vote.
Bills and payroll: Staff reported bills "came in at $115,974.21" and payroll at "$83,001.26" as the listed amounts in the record. During the motion the total figure read aloud in the meeting record included unclear numeric aggregation (several spoken forms of the total were audible); the commission moved and seconded to approve payment of the bills and payroll and approved the motion by voice vote.
Adjournment: A motion to adjourn was made and seconded and the meeting was adjourned by voice vote.
What’s next: These items were approved by the commission in the Dec. 2 voice votes. The hire is effective Dec. 3, 2024; staff will implement payroll and accounts-payable processing for the approved payments.
