The Leeds City Commission approved a request to spend $5,000 from the 2025 marketing budget to convert existing footage into promotional videos showcasing city events.
Jamie, a visitor who presented the request, said the city previously contracted for footage and that the owner of 605 Magazine, John, is willing to honor the earlier quote despite current market rates being higher. The project would produce a 90-second overview video and three 30-second segments for use on city and chamber social-media pages and for a 90-second promotional commercial for the 2026 Gold Camp Jubilee. The presenter asked for $5,000 from the 2025 marketing budget plus $1,000 from the 2026 Gold Camp Jubilee fund.
A motion to approve $5,000 from the 2025 marketing budget for the videos was made, seconded and approved by voice vote.
The commission did not require further formal action and staff will coordinate distribution and production schedules with the vendor.
