City staff reviewed a set of interlocal agreements negotiated with Stevens County. For fire services, staff said the county will pay half of the city’s budgeted overtime (example figure discussed: $46,500) and half of insurance deductibles; long‑standing cost shares for vehicle maintenance and fuel remain unchanged. The manager said those are the only substantive changes in the agreement before the commission.
On municipal court services, staff said the city will pay $600 per month for JP services and that the review cycle will change from every two years to annual review; the city will continue to share half of office supply costs. Commissioners discussed the administrative arrangements and approved both interlocal agreements by motion and voice vote.
Both agreements were approved as presented and staff said they will finalize documentation with the county.
