The Somerset City Commission voted May 1 to approve annual malt beverage license renewals under resolution 2025-08.
Speaker 7 explained the fee structure: "When they submit their renewals, it is a $300 fee for them. Half of that fee goes to the state, and then half of it stays with us." She also said the city retains about $50 per machine in local revenue. Chair asked whether the police department had any concerns; no objections were raised on the record. A motion to approve the renewals was moved, seconded and carried by voice vote.
The renewals were routine and staff indicated no police or regulatory concerns were outstanding in the meeting record.
