Perry City swears in new police officer Jordan Hastings

At the start of its Dec. 12 meeting, Perry City formally welcomed and swore in Jordan Hastings as a new police officer. Mayor and council members introduced Hastings and Shanna Johnson administered the oath of office.
Hastings repeated the oath, pledging to "support, obey and defend the Constitution of the United States and the Constitution of this state" and then signed the oath paperwork. Councilmembers and staff congratulated the new officer, and Hastings' wife, Kelsey, was invited to the dais to participate in the pinning ceremony.
