Officials press for local water-plant design funding; design budget trimmed to $2.5 million

Speaker 4 said the city had prepared a document explaining why a merger with a private treatment plant is not feasible for Price City.
Officials said they will press the Division of Drinking Water for support and schedule additional meetings to discuss ownership and financial details. Speaker 4 said the environmental-impact statement (EIS) is projected to be completed by next summer and the group hopes for a decision next summer.
No final funding commitments were announced at the workshop. Staff said they will continue to seek design dollars and set follow-up meetings with state drinking-water officials.
