Castle Valley schedules January workshop to review draft water management plan

John Drew, the town’s water agent, said on Dec. 18 that a draft water management plan is complete and will be published on the town website. He asked council members and residents to review the draft ahead of a public workshop and said the council plans to hold at least one workshop in January to gather questions and public input.
"We're going to discuss that under administrative here in a minute," John Drew said, adding the draft will be put on the website and publicized. Later in the meeting the council confirmed a public workshop for Jan. 22 at 6:30 p.m. to accept questions and feedback; council members discussed scheduling multiple workshops and limiting presentations to short summaries followed by extended public Q&A.
Council members emphasized that the draft is not final and that comments received at the workshop will help work toward a final draft. One council member suggested a brief presentation (10–15 minutes) followed by most of the time devoted to public questions and answers. The town will post the draft on its site and notify residents of the workshop date.
