Town hears progress report on pipeline and well work; poles, drilling and pipe pull underway with July target for substantial completion

Brennan updated the council on utility work tied to the town’s water and pipeline project. He said the contractor has also been working to set poles through the marsh and pull power lines, and that crews expect to pull wires into place in the coming weeks.
Brennan said he is coordinating SRF (drinking-water) payment steps and will hold weekly progress meetings on Tuesday afternoons. When asked about completion dates, council members and staff said they were aiming for completion in late spring or summer; one speaker cited a target around July 30 for final substantial completion.
On wells and testing, the council heard that the initial well tests showed good water quality and adequate quantity. The contractor did not encounter significant rock in a bore that had budgeted a rock contingency, generating small savings. Brennan said a remaining coordination step is tying the pump/well installations into Jackson’s trenching work and making final waterline connections to distribution points.
Council members asked about meter-reading issues and on-site valves; staff said they will follow up with the contractor and the district’s contacts. The town did not take new formal action on the pipeline at the meeting, but members requested continued coordination and weekly progress updates.
