South Plainfield council introduces sewer code amendment, senior center roof project; approves minutes and resolutions

The council also approved the Nov. 18 minutes (recorded as passing 4-0 in the meeting record) and adopted grouped resolutions (24-354 through 24-355 and 24-357 through 24-361) after removing resolution 24-356 from the packet earlier in the agenda. The clerk read a motion to authorize payment of bills and the council approved it on a roll call vote. The meeting record contains inconsistent figures for the bills: the agenda lists two bills totaling $1,943,095.41, while the later motion as read references $5,943,095.41; the transcript does not clarify which amount is correct.
Community updates and acknowledgments punctuated the meeting. The mayor invited scouts from Troop 309 to lead the Pledge of Allegiance. The police chief reported attending the Morris County Police Academy graduation for Officer Nicholas Scamba.
