The Jefferson County Board voted May 21 to authorize land transactions and easements to support development of a Food & Beverage Innovation Campus on property formerly known as the county farm.
Supervisor Jones described the set of land actions: transfers of identified lots and portions of outlots to the City of Jefferson for stormwater ponds, adjustments to accommodate a lift station, an approximately 5.11-acre parcel transfer from the city, and authorization for the county administrator to execute necessary easements as final engineering dictates. The resolution states the actions align ownership, maintenance responsibility and infrastructure needs and noted they require no up-front capital outlay by the county. The county’s finance committee recommended forwarding the resolution and the board adopted it by voice vote.
