Parks board recommends renewal of recreation provider partnerships

The Parks and Recreation Advisory Board voted unanimously May 15 to recommend renewing existing recreation provider partnerships and instructor agreements and to send the renewals to City Council for approval.
Staff presented a list of nonathletic providers the department recommends continuing, including STEM Lego, Candy News Theater, KidCreate Art, babysitter boot camp, Art with Ronnie, Bombay Jam (Zumba), a new yoga program by Kim Saunders and photography instruction by Star Petronella. Staff said most classes have solid enrollment and that several providers will move from program-provider agreements to instructor contracts where appropriate.
Matthew and other staff reviewed athletic providers recommended for renewal: Hopewell Youth Association (Hopewell Baseball), Eagle Stix (girls lacrosse), North Georgia Recreation (boys lacrosse), North Atlanta Football League (flag and tackle options), Halftime Sports (running programs), Milton Mustangs swim club, Milton Tennis Center and adult offerings such as Rush Union soccer and the local chapter of the Atlanta batonk league.
"We are looking for recommendation renewals on all the providers that were just listed for the athletic programs," staff said.
Morgan moved to renew all listed contracts; Jason seconded the motion, and the board voted unanimously to recommend the renewals to Council. Staff said the items will be taken to Council for final approval.
