The Crookston City Council approved a resolution to raise water and wastewater rates for 2025 to generate revenue for planned capital improvements and future system needs.

City staff told the council the recommended rate adjustments follow a rate study and would help fund needed capital projects while keeping Crookston among the lower‑third of statewide utilities on typical residential bills. Councilors voted and approved the rate changes by roll call.

Staff said the increases are intended to address future capital needs and to stabilize the utility funds against anticipated infrastructure costs.
