Architect Jessica Fairchild said the project is primarily an exterior remodel intended to preserve the house’s aesthetic while updating it to a more contemporary appearance. The design swaps some deck area from the front setback to the rear, reduces decking in the front setback, and replaces rotted exposed beams and fascia.
Members asked for clarification about story poles and driveway changes. The design team said the driveway will be widened in part with pervious paving at the top to improve access and to allow better turning — a request made by the fire department — but that the slope remains steep. ADR members and public‑commenters present supported the proposal as presented, noting the materials and color selections and limited new massing.
